Captain Jake Borgerding is a United States Coast Guard Licensed Charter Boat Captain. Jensen Beach Fishing Charters is Licensed and Insured. Captain Jake has been fishing his entire life and for the last 20 years has been guiding his friends and family and their friends and family and clients in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean successfully for grouper, snapper, amberjack, cobia, mackeral, dolphin, tuna, and sailfish. He has been fishing the offshore waters of Jensen Beach and Stuart FL since 2004, knows them well, and is ready to show you a great day on the water!
Jensen Beach Fishing Charters fishes out of completley custom 30ft sportfish/center console. The boat was featured twice on Florida Sportman's "Project Dreamboat" television series. It was professionaly transformed at MCU in Stuart from a classic 27 ft SeaCraft Sportfish into a modern center console with a 30 ft running surface, giant cockpit, 300 gal fuel tank, oversized T-top and much more in 2004. In 2019 it was completely updated once again with a custom paint job, twin 2019 300 suzukis, a full Simrad electronics suite, and all the rod holders, fish boxes, and livewells you could ever need for a great day on blue water. The boat has all required safety equipment for charter fishing and in addition is equiped with 2 gps intergrated vhf radios plus a hand held, a 6kw open array radar, and an epirb.
JBFC works to be the best value for a private offshore charter in the area. Fishing licenses bait and are included in your price and special requests are usually not a problem for an additional charge. We can fish up to 6 people but typically 4 or less adults is ideal for space and giving each angler ample fishing time.

*$100.00 deposit to hold your day, returned to you if the captain cancels for any reason. The captain will keep the deposit if you cancel with short notice or do not show up at the dock. Trips are paid in full before the boat leaves the dock.
At JBFC we can customize your trip to you, focusing the species of fish and type of fishing you prefer. If you don't have a preference we work to keep the rod bent and will typically be rigged for a variety of species and techniques. The ocean presents a new challenge, new opportunities, and new things to see each day. We have year round fishing though the species may vary. Typically, late spring through early summer provides the most action for large dolphin, blackfin tuna, and cobia. Later in the summer we typically have a strong sail bite, lots of bonita, kings, and run and gun opportunities for schoolie dolphin. The fall is another great chance for a large dolphin. In the winter and early spring the seas can be challenging and so can the offshore fishing. The best days to catch typically coincide with the worst weather, however we do have a very strong and consistent nearshore bite for mackeral, snapper, and sheepshead. We fish nice days and your comfort and fun is everything to us. If we cancel your trip due to high winds and you still want to get out we can recommend you to other guides fishing out of larger boats.
Captain Jake is a father of 3 and is experienced with the patience it takes to fish with children. Bring the whole family! Many great days are had over the reef with a well full of live shrimp.

Most mornings in the warmer months your trip will start by catching live bait. Drifting these live baits over promising areas such as weedlines, color changes, temperature breaks, and/or bottom structure while keeping a steady flow of chum going out can produce some big days for all the major pelagic species.
The Stuart, FL area has abundant near shore reefs and wrecks. Fishing the nearshore reefs and wrecks is a great way to keep the rod bent all day and filling the box while still leaving opportunities for large cobia, kingfish, and sails.
If you are interested in getting a workout on your charter we can drop baits down on some of the deeper wrecks and reefs targeting larger snapper, grouper, and amberjack.
JBFC will typically troll a five rod spread with planer rods down deep and other rods covering the surface and sub-surface with strip baits, feathers, ballyhoo and/or live baits. This is an effective way to cover water and target sails, dolphin, and tuna, especially if a promising weed line is found.
There are several fun and exciting tournaments in town. If you enjoy competition and would like a unique saltwater experience, be sure to inquire.
