Good action charter fishing in Fort Pierce yesterday. Although we didn't get out because it was a little rough for one of our anglers (5yr. Old Thatcher) we did hear of good action taking place just to the Notth of our inlet. Looking forward to getting out there tomorrow after hearing about sailfish, dolphin, and some wahoo yesterday. Fishing is back on the upswing now that the full moon is behind us. Dolphin action improved yesterday as did the sailfish action. It seemed like the best depth was from 85-200 feet while fishing around weeds and lots of small flying fish. The fishing should continue to pick up as we get further away from the full moon and deeper into winter. Well, it's no surprise that the wind blew though the weekend making Stuart Fl. fishing charters reschedule again. A couple of boats did sneak out, but complained of rough seas and slow fishing due to the full moon. With the nasty weather last week Stuart's inlet was closed out, but the boats that could get out for their Palm Beach fishing charters whacked em. My buddy's to was able to sneak out on Thursday and caught 14-16 sailfish and some dolphin. He said it was pretty rough, but it's obviously good news to hear that the tip of the Maine body of fish has made it down to us. Expect excellent fishing for the next few months as North winds and big swells push more fish down. Give me a call to book your light tackle sailfish charter out if Stuart Fl. Mark it down as another day that the Stuart Fl. Charter boats couldn’t get out fishing. This Fall has been brutal to say the least. Winds blowing 15-30 kts. on average and swells that are up to 15 feet. The only good thing is, It cant blow like this forever, and with the cold weather up North and waves this size fish will be moving down the coast in big numbers fast. Be ready for some good fishing once it settles down a little because the fish have been on the move, and you can bet they are hungry.
When we have been able to get out the fishing has been decent. Expect to catch Dolphin, sailfish, kingfish, bonita, blackfin tuna, and maybe a wahoo while trolling. Bottom fishing has been a little slower, but this swell should move another body of grouper down. Grouper season is open through the end of the year, so it's not too late to get that big ol Copper Belly Gag Give me a call to book the fishing charter you’ve been dreaming of.
